Presidential Library is celebrating with a host of activities.

Monday, February 15th at 1pm*..Lincoln Live, The Wit & Wisdom of Abraham
Lincoln
Saturday, February 27th at 2pm*Lyndon & Lady Bird Johnson
On Friday, February 5th, Jim Wallis, bestselling author, public
theologian, speaker, preacher, and international commentator on
religion, public life, faith, and politics, will discuss and autograph
his new book Rediscovering Values: On Wall Street, Main Street, and
Your Street. Michael J. Sandel, professor of government at Harvard
University and New York Times bestselling author, says "Jim Wallis
argues persuasively that the financial crisis is also a moral crisis. A
vivid storyteller and prophetic voice, he shows how the worship of
markets has led us astray -- and how repairing the economy requires a
moral awakening and a new commitment to the common good. This wise and
hopeful book points us toward a new economy and a more spiritually
satisfying public life." The reading is co-sponsored by the Georgia
Center for the Book and is open to the public at no charge. Doors to the
Carter Presidential Library theater open at 6:30pm. No reservations are
needed.
As part of its Presidents' Day celebration, the Carter Library
presents "Lincoln Live: The Wit and Wisdom of Abraham Lincoln." Actor
and motivational speaker Gene Griessman brings the 16th President to
life in this stirring performance. As original background music plays,
you'll laugh at Lincoln's humorous stories, thrill to his great speeches
and learn powerful lessons about success. The performance is free with
your paid museum admission.
The Presidents' Month celebration continues on Saturday, February
27th at 2pm as Bill and Sue Wills bring to life "Lyndon and Lady Bird
Johnson." You've heard of the term "whirlwind courtship"? You will see
exactly what that means in the story of Lyndon and Lady Bird. In their
married years "Bird" grew into an astute business woman and Lyndon
became known as "The Master of the Senate". Thus it was not a surprise
that when he became President his administration passed more important
legislation in less time than any since FDR. Lyndon became known for
his bigger than life personality and as Lady Bird herself said that life
with Lyndon was "one big adventure". The hour-long performance is free
with paid museum admission.
