Tell Me a Story at Club Stewart
Tell Me a Story - Making Connections Through Literacy, is scheduled from 3-4 p.m. March 14 at Club Stewart. Garrison Commander Col. Kevin Milton will be the guest reader. Registration was earlier
The Military Child Education Coalition Parent 2 Parent Program and Child, Youth and School Services are presenting the program.

Youth Sponsorship/Kids on the Move "Tara Feis" Trip
The registration deadline is March 11 for the Youth Sponsorship/Kids on the Move "Tara Feis" trip March 13. Participants will depart Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield for the "Tara Feis" event in Savannah.
The event is rich in Irish culture, with Family oriented activities and renowned Irish performers, including vocalist Cathie Ryan.
The Child, Youth and School Services welcome program is for youth grades 4-12 looking to meet new friends. Open to CYSS registered youth. Remember, space is limited.

Primitive Weapon Shoot at Stewart
A Primitive Weapon Shoot will be held starting at 9 a.m. on March 13 at the Stewart Rifle/Pistol and Archery Ranges in the vicinity of Pass & Permit building 8093.
Shooters pay $5 for five shoots on a set number of 50, 100 and 150-meter targets. Archery $5 for 10 shots on 5 standard and five 3-D targets.
Prizes will be awarded for highest overall points for targets hit in muzzleloader, archery and combined divisions. For details and registration information, call 767-2515.

 

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Contest @ Rocky's Zone
Soldiers can test their skills on PlayStation 3 and compete for prizes in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 contest March 13. The action starts at 11 a.m. at Rocky's Zone, a Soldier Recreation Center, building 703.
There are no fees to enter contest, which is for Soldiers only.

St. Patrick's Day Brunch at Hunter

The St. Patrick's Day Brunch will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 14 at Hunter Club, building 6015.
On the menu will be breakfast items, Guinness Stout Irish Stew, traditional corned beef w/grain mustard sauce, chicken with Irish cheese crust, soda bread, Grandma O'Leary's steam buttered cabbage, candied carrots, parsley potatoes, sweet peas and baby onions. Also, apple oatmeal crisp and assorted desserts. Plus, we'll have an Irish beer tasting.
Advance tickets, at discounted prices of $2 off for adults and $1 off for children, are available at the club's information counter.
Advance tickets prices are corporal and below $10.95 per person, children ages 5 to 10, $5.45 per child. Sergeant and above, plus all others, $12.95 per person, children ages 5 to 10, $6.45 per child, 4 and under free.
Prices at door are corporal and below $12.95 per person, children ages 5 to 10, $6.45 per child, sergeant and above $14.95 per person, children ages 5 to 10, $7.45 per child, children 4 and under free.

GC Golf Scramble at Stewart
Registration is under way for the first Garrison Commander's Golf Scramble of 2010 at Taylors Creek Golf Course. Four-person scramble play will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. March 26.
The cost is $35 for Active Duty, Military Retirees, Army Civilians and Golf Club members. It is $45 for civilian guests. Sign up early to be one of the 25 four-person teams. Registration closes March 25.

Future Leader's Camps at Stewart/Hunter
Plans are under way to make this year's Child, Youth and School Services' Future Leader's Camps the best ever, with additional activities and jamborees.
The camp will be held March 29 through April 1 at Hunter Army Airfield's School Age Youth Services (building 8805) and April 5 through April 8 at the Fort Stewart Youth Center (building 7338).
The camps are free for CYSS Registered youth in grades 6-12. Registration will continue through March 25 at the Hunter CYSS Registration Office, building1286, and through April 1 at the Fort Stewart CYSS Registration, building 443.
Spaces are limited, so early registration for the camps is encouraged.
New this year are an Outdoor Wildlife Jamboree, an Outdoor Adventure Jamboree and the Superstar Sports Jamboree.
Other activities include strawberry picking at Bamboo Farms, Workforce Prep Training, Team Building Activities, Culinary Arts, Sexual Harassment/Bullying/Gang Awareness and Prevention, and Canine Demonstrations by the 385th MP's.
Lunches are included.

The Great MWR Yard Sale @ FS & HAAF
It's never too early to start making plans to be a part of the Great MWR Yard Sale at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. It is open to the public.
Seller registration ends April 14.
The sale will be held from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 17 at the Club Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Credit Union parking lots, as well as on-Post housing areas.
Bargain-hunters will have an extra attraction as well - the NAF Excess Property Sale of televisions, furniture, appliances and equipment at building 1501 on Fort Stewart during the same hours.
All DoD ID cardholders are eligible at a cost of $5 per space. There is no charge for participants who live in on-post housing. All sellers required to sign-up at Sports Office, Bldg 471, 767-8238 (FS) or Tominac Fitness Center, Bldg 919, 315-2019 (HAAF).
Goodwill Industries will be on hand for donations from 2 p.m. until the truck is filled at both parking lots.

 

Stewart/Hunter 2010 BASS Tournament Sign-Up
Pre-registration will continue until April 7 for the catch and release Stewart/Hunter 2010 BASS Tournament, scheduled from 6-10 a.m. April 10 at Stewart's Pond 1 (Pineview Lake).
Participants may register up to one hour before event, if slots remain available. Early registration is encouraged because space is limited.
Contestants can fish from the bank or launch their bass boat. They must have valid Georgia and Stewart/Hunter fishing permits. Prizes will be awarded in youth and adult categories, and an Overall Sportsman prize will be awarded to Active Duty winner.
Pre-registration fees are $10 for ages 15 and under, $20 for ages 16 and older. Day of Event fees are $15 and $30, respectively.
